ScenML is an open standard for recording the qualitative and quantitative information in scenarios. Its intended features:

• XML syntax
• Easy-to-use, flexible, open specification
• Consistency with a range of scenario approaches
• Representation of both qualitative and quantitative information
• Consistency with the data requirements of the Dashboard of Sustainability
• Support for both development and distribution of scenarios

The specification for ScenML 1.10 is formulated in the ScenML document type definition (DTD). The specification is also given in plain English.

ScenML is in development, and others are invited to contribute. This site is the home page for the language. In addition to the language specification, this site will feature tools to write, edit and view ScenML files and stylesheets to display it.
